Product Details

For the custom sneaker competition, I had the unique opportunity to reimagine the Steph Curry Flowtro 1, infusing my design with inspiration from the legendary Virgil Abloh. As the founder of NRS Custom X, my background is more about bespoke sneaker making than painting, so I focused on the use of materials rather than traditional paint.

The concept behind my design was to imagine a scenario where Virgil Abloh was still with us and working with Under Armour on a one-of-a-kind Curry sneaker. This vision drove me to push the boundaries of sneaker customization.

The design process was intricate and involved reshaping the entire upper of the shoe. We crafted a new toe box, redesigned the eyelets, and restructured the shoe’s silhouette. This required pattern making and several test fittings to ensure everything fit perfectly before cutting the exotic materials.

Speaking of materials, we went all out with high-end exotics. The shoe features genuine python skin, ostrich, and alligator accents. We also customized the sole and the back tab with unique paint details, adding an extra layer of uniqueness to the design.

It was truly a team effort to bring this vision to life, and I’m incredibly proud of the final product.

A HISTORIC COLLABORATION

The Art of the Game competition became one of the largest creator-driven sneaker showcases ever produced, giving emerging artists a platform on a global stage. From thousands of entries, just 100 creators were shortlisted by a world-class judging panel led by Stephen Curry.

These designs form the Art of the Game Collection - a rare, curated snapshot of sneaker culture at its most innovative. Each Top 100 sneaker is now available to purchase.

This isn’t just a sneaker. It’s a piece of the Art of the Game legacy - and a chapter in the future of sneaker culture.
