With Rakuten’s support, the competition became one of the largest creator-driven sneaker showcases ever produced, giving emerging artists a platform on a global stage. From thousands of entries, just 100 creators were shortlisted by a world-class judging panel featuring leaders across sport, design, music, and sneaker culture. These Top 100 designs formed the Art of the Game Official Collection - a rare, curated snapshot of sneaker culture at its most innovative. The journey concluded in San Francisco, where the finalists were flown out for a filmed finale with the Judges. This finale marked a milestone moment: a celebration of creators, culture, and the evolution of custom sneakers as a legitimate art form. Now, for the first time ever, you can own a piece of this history. I designed this sneaker as a balance between performance and ornament. The base is deliberately clean and understated, giving space for the details to speak without shouting. What elevates it is the hand-applied gold detailing and the blue porcelain-inspired patterning, which I used to bring a sense of heritage and craft into a modern athletic silhouette.
The gold elements are meant to feel ceremonial rather than flashy. They reference victory, excellence, and reward, but in a refined way. I paired them with intricate blue motifs inspired by classic ceramic patterns, symbols of precision and patience, because that’s how I approach both design and the game itself.
Every panel placement was intentional. I wanted the shoe to move between worlds: something you could wear on court, but also something that stands as a piece of wearable art. The contrast between the crisp white base, the richness of the gold, and the delicacy of the blue detailing reflects that duality.
This isn’t just a customised sneaker. It’s my interpretation of flow, discipline, and personal expression — built to be worn, noticed, and appreciated up close.
