Every detail on the shoes I designed for the Art Of The Game competition tells a part of my story.
I was inspired by the 1997-2010 orange and blue Golden State Warriors Jersey. The lightning bolt represents me — powerful, raw, and full of energy — a reminder of the impact I have on others and the gift I’ve been given. The blue and orange colors pay homage to New York sports teams like the Mets, Knicks, and Islanders, connecting back to where I’m from and what shaped me as a person and an artist.
The gold on the back tab symbolizes a golden opportunity — the idea that I’m stepping into something greater with every creation that I make. The tongue tab is hand-cut and hand-painted, making this pair truly one of a kind. It features Philippians 4:13, my favorite verse and also Stephen Curry’s, along with a completely original design of a basketball combined with a cross — representing faith, purpose, and the drive that keeps me going because I can do all things through Christ.
I am proud of the work I was able to accomplish in such a short period of time and I hope to see my creation come to life. I would be honored to see others do what they love while rocking my custom design.
