With Rakuten’s support, the competition became one of the largest creator-driven sneaker showcases ever produced, giving emerging artists a platform on a global stage. From thousands of entries, just 100 creators were shortlisted by a world-class judging panel featuring leaders across sport, design, music, and sneaker culture. These Top 100 designs formed the Art of the Game Official Collection - a rare, curated snapshot of sneaker culture at its most innovative. The journey concluded in San Francisco, where the finalists were flown out for a filmed finale with the Judges. This finale marked a milestone moment: a celebration of creators, culture, and the evolution of custom sneakers as a legitimate art form. Now, for the first time ever, you can own a piece of this history. Each Top 100 sneaker - whether the original pair or a made-to-order version in your size - represents a creator who rose above thousands to earn their place in this landmark Rakuten x Stephen Curry series. Faith Over Fear: Rookie to Pro” Design Statement
Suede was a new material for me, and at first, I was intimidated. Fear started to creep in until I remembered what happens when you let faith lead. That moment changed everything. This design represents my journey from rookie to pro not just in shoes, but in life.
When I first started customizing sneakers, I was just figuring it out. I didn’t have fancy tools or a studio just my kitchen table and a dream. Over time, I became more disciplined, consistent, and focused, the same way Steph Curry had to train, sacrifice, and stay locked in to become the player he is. “Rookie to Pro” means believing in yourself before the world does, showing up even when it’s uncomfortable, and growing through every challenge until your craft becomes second nature.
My first pair for this project features purple, teal, and black inspired by Steph Curry’s favorite team, the Charlotte Hornets. On the side, I added silver glitter lettering that reads “FAITH OVER FEAR.” That phrase is the heart of my journey as an entrepreneur. It takes crazy faith to put yourself out there, to be critiqued, and to keep going when things get slow. One month might bring $5,000, the next $0 but I’ve learned that when God gives you a vision, it’s not for everyone to understand. My faith has opened doors I once only dreamed of, like seeing Oprah Winfrey and LisaRaye wear my custom shoes. Being part of the Top 100 feels like another “pro moment” a reminder of how far I’ve come.
The rhinestones are my signature they represent strength, confidence, and creativity that both men and women can express freely.
The second pair the black and gold full-bling sneaker holds deeper meaning. Black represents a season when I felt unseen and unheard. It’s the darkness that birthed my light. The black rhinestones show that you can still shine even in hard times. The gold accents symbolize royalty and purpose proof that we all carry power beyond what we see.
This design isn’t just about sneakers it’s about faith, growth, and becoming who God called me to be. From rookie to pro, I’m walking in purpose.
