In 2019, I stood at a crossroads. I was unsure of who I was, who I wanted to be, and what I wanted to do with my life. But, in that uncertainty, I found the courage to step out on something I had no real idea about. I picked up a blank, off-brand shoe and dared to step into the unknown, embarking on the journey of becoming a custom shoe artist.
My first idea for this design was simple, but as I began sketching and painting, I realized that the design lacked soul; it lacked who I’ve become over all these years.
So I started again; this time, I looked inward. That's when the dragon and the tiger emerged, not as opponents but as a reflection of myself and my story.
The dragon represents wisdom, the calm, disciplined energy that guides one through storms. The tiger embodies courage, the fearless force that takes action when the path is unclear.
Both shoes connect in an infinite flow of movement, showing that neither can exist without the other. True duality isn’t still; it's adaptive. It bends, flows, and finds new form when tested.
Adaptability is a Strength, and like the yin and yang, every journey needs both light and shadow to shine.
