Created in partnership with Rakuten, brought together thousands of custom sneaker artists from across the US and Europe. With Rakuten’s support, the competition became one of the largest creator-driven sneaker showcases ever produced, giving emerging artists a platform on a global stage. From thousands of entries, just 100 creators were shortlisted by a world-class judging panel featuring leaders across sport, design, music, and sneaker culture. These Top 100 designs formed the Art of the Game Official Collection - a rare, curated snapshot of sneaker culture at its most innovative. The journey concluded in San Francisco, where the finalists were flown out for a filmed finale with the Judges. This finale marked a milestone moment: a celebration of creators, culture, and the evolution of custom sneakers as a legitimate art form. Now, for the first time ever, you can own a piece of this history. Each Top 100 sneaker - whether the original pair or a made-to-order version in your size - represents a creator who rose above thousands to earn their place in this landmark Rakuten x Stephen Curry series. This isn’t just a sneaker. It’s a piece of the Art of the Game legacy - and a chapter in the future of sneaker culture.

Basketball Bunnies
Product Details
I love cute and kawaii-style art (Sanrio, Pixar, Chiikawa, Line Friends, etc.) and am personally working on developing my own brand and original characters! Customizing these Curry 1s was such a great opportunity to merge two of my favorite themes: cute cartoons and basketball! I also wanted to pay tribute to one of my top favorite athletes, Steph Curry, by referencing three pointers and the Bible verse Phillippians 4:13. I mostly work digitally as an artist from animation to graphic design to illustration, so I had to first digitally sketch out my ideas over pictures of the shoes, and then sketch the layout in pencil on the actual shoes. Next, started layering in each color with Posca markers and the journey continued until everything was drawn and colored! After adding the Liquid Kicks top layer to seal the design, I had to add one more final touch: a keychain plush! I have been enjoying handmade crafts, so I wanted to feature a feltie plush keychain to attach to the sneakers. I also sketched this out digitally, cut the bunny shape out of felt and sewed the plush together - more inspiration drawn from Sanrio collaborations with big name sneaker brands. I find so much joy in creating something cute and cartoony that anyone of all ages can enjoy and share with others - I love to make art that can bring smiles to many faces and inspire creativity, and am so grateful that I can do that as an animator and artist!
