The Story
I’m a multidisciplinary artist from Oakland, California, whose work celebrates current and historical figures who’ve driven social change in politics, entertainment, activism, and sports. My art recognises their lasting impact and inspires new generations. I use mixed media on acid-free watercolour paper, combining ink drawings with layers of acrylics, coloured pencils, oil sticks, and markers. Each portrait hides messages within its textures and forms. A graduate of California College of the Arts (BFA, Illustration, 1997), my public works include murals at the Chase Center, Raimondi Park, and Downtown Oakland. I’m also the lead artist for the Temescal Roots Project and am developing a monument honouring the Black Panther Party.
